This restaurant is nestled in the woods, just 3 minutes’ walk from the Shin Furano Prince Hotel. Opened in 2018, it is based on the philosophy espoused by So Kuramoto, the author and screenwriter of the popular Japanese drama “Kita no Kuni Kara”. Chef Kenichi Otsuka of “Le Gaulois”, a restaurant located Tokyo’s Omotesando and which made a name for itself for focusing on ingredients from Hokkaido, showcases his skills to their fullest extent here. The restaurant proposes “Hokkaido-French” cuisine that makes the most of seasonal ingredients brought from all over Hokkaido, fusing them with the essence of Italian cuisine, considered the prototype of French cuisine. Reservations (by phone) are required for both lunch and dinner. In addition to the owner-chef’s wood-fired meats and fish specialties, the friendly personality of the matron is another reason for its popularity.
